Redmond has no Chinatown in the sources read for this guide; Seattle's Chinatown-International District is a Seattle neighborhood and a different trip. The seven kitchens here sit in two parts of the city: Overlake, on 148th Avenue NE and NE 24th Street near Microsoft's main campus, and Downtown Redmond, at Redmond Town Center, on Leary Way and on Redmond Way. They cover Hunan, Hakka and Cantonese dim sum, Shanghai-style soup dumplings, Sichuan, Xi'an street food and hand-pulled noodles.

Overlake: 148th Avenue NE and NE 24th Street (ZIP 98052)
Wikipedia's Overlake article says the area covers parts of eastern Bellevue and southern Redmond near Microsoft's main campus, with a busy retail district along 148th Avenue N.E. and N.E. 24th Street. Sichuanese Cuisine lists 2010 148th Ave NE and Miah's Kitchen 2022 148th Ave NE, Suite 13B, both with Redmond addresses, and Noodle Nine lists 14808 NE 24th St. Sichuanese Cuisine calls this its Bellevue/Redmond branch; the Bellevue-addressed kitchens on NE 20th Street are in the Bellevue guide, not here.
Redmond Town Center, 166th Avenue NE (Downtown Redmond)
Wikipedia describes Redmond Town Center as a mixed-use development and shopping center in downtown Redmond, opened in 1997. Its own directory lists Dong Ting Chun at 7425 166th Ave NE, Suite C230 and Supreme Dumplings at 7325 166th Ave NE, Suite F115. One is a Hunan dining room and the other a soup-dumpling counter, so they serve different meals.
A 2016 Redmond Reporter article puts Redmond's historic core on Leary Way from Bear Creek Parkway to Northeast 80th Street. Hakka House lists 7845 Leary Way. Seattle Magazine reported in June 2026 that the owner reopened it in Redmond after closing the earlier Bellevue location.
Biang Biang Noodles lists its Redmond branch at 16595 Redmond Way, Suite 160; its other branch is on Capitol Hill in Seattle and is not part of this guide. This guide gives the street number only and makes no walking-distance claim to Redmond Town Center or Leary Way.
Redmond has no Chinatown in the sources read for this guide, and Wikipedia's Redmond article does not mention one. Seattle's Chinatown-International District is a neighborhood of Seattle, a different city and a different trip. Wikipedia reports a 2020 census population of 73,256 for Redmond, of whom 30,009 (40.96 percent) were Asian alone. The Chinese kitchens in this guide sit in two places: Overlake, where Wikipedia describes a busy retail district along 148th Avenue N.E. and N.E. 24th Street, and Downtown Redmond, at Redmond Town Center, on Leary Way and on Redmond Way. No fetched source calls either one a Chinese restaurant district.
Where can I get dim sum in Redmond?
Hakka House at 7845 Leary Way is the dim sum pick. Its ordering page lists a Lunch Dim Sum menu from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on weekdays, with shrimp dumplings and siu mai at $7.25, and a Dinner Dim Sum menu from 4:00 PM with the same items at $7.75; the restaurant is closed Monday. On Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM it adds Chinese donuts, soybean milk and egg tarts. For soup dumplings, Supreme Dumplings at Redmond Town Center lists Supreme Pork Xiao Long Bao (8 pcs) at $14.
Where is Sichuan food in Redmond?
Sichuanese Cuisine at 2010 148th Ave NE in Overlake is the full Sichuan dinner, with Sichuanese Boiled Fish at $17.95 and Tea Smoked Duck at $18.95 on its pickup menu. Noodle Nine at 14808 NE 24th St serves Sichuan noodles, wontons in chili oil and maocai, with Nine Nine Noodle at $8.99. Dong Ting Chun at Redmond Town Center is Hunan, not Sichuan, and Biang Biang Noodles on Redmond Way cooks its mala beef with Sichuan chili oil.
Which Chinese restaurants are in Overlake?
Three picks sit in Overlake: Sichuanese Cuisine at 2010 148th Ave NE, Miah's Kitchen at 2022 148th Ave NE, Suite 13B, and Noodle Nine at 14808 NE 24th St. That covers a Sichuan dinner, Xi'an sandwiches, lamb soup and biangbiang noodles, and a Sichuan noodle bowl. Wikipedia says Overlake also covers part of eastern Bellevue; the Bellevue-addressed kitchens on NE 20th Street are in the Bellevue guide, not this one.
Which of these Redmond Chinese restaurants deliver, and can I take light rail?
On 2026-10-01, Dong Ting Chun's ordering page offered delivery by DoorDash within 10 miles for a $6.50-$10.00 fee, Supreme Dumplings' and Noodle Nine's ordering pages offered delivery, and Sichuanese Cuisine pointed to DoorDash, where its prices ran about $3 above its pickup menu. Hakka House and Miah's Kitchen showed pickup only, and Biang Biang Noodles' Redmond page listed no delivery. Wikipedia says the 2 Line reached Redmond Technology station in Overlake in April 2024 and Downtown Redmond on May 10, 2025; this guide does not claim walking times from either station.
Reading the menus
Words you may see in Redmond.
Mala A Sichuan flavor pairing the tingling numbness of Sichuan pepper with chili heat; the name means numbing and spicy.
Sichuan peppercorn The dried husk of a Zanthoxylum berry that gives Sichuan dishes a citrusy scent and a tingling, numbing buzz; it is not a true pepper.
Doubanjiang A salty, savory fermented paste of broad beans, usually with chili, that anchors many Sichuan dishes; the Pixian version is the most renowned.
Guotie (potstickers) Pan-fried dumplings browned on one side, then steamed with a little water under a lid; 'potsticker' is the English form of guotie.
