Troy has no Chinatown that any page fetched for this guide names. Wikipedia's Chinatown, Detroit article places Detroit's two Chinatowns downtown (Third Avenue, Porter and Bagley, then Cass Avenue and Peterboro) and says much of the Metro Detroit Chinese community lives in the Troy area. Wikipedia's Troy article gives 23,788 non-Hispanic Asian residents, 27.25 percent, in the 2020 census and says Troy had the largest Asian-American population of Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties after the 2000 census. The Chinese restaurants here are spread across Maple Road, Big Beaver Road, John R Road, East Long Lake Road and South Boulevard. Two other Troy kitchens on Rochester Road, Miss Chang An (5071) and Royal Palace (5087), are listed in this site's Detroit guide, together with Madison Heights restaurants on John R Road, which are a different city.
Where can I get dim sum in Troy?
The six menus checked for this guide do not establish a dedicated dim sum service window. P.F. Chang's Troy location page advertises Chinese dim sum, while its Troy pickup menu lists Pork Dumplings and Shrimp Dumplings at $14.50 each when refreshed on 2026-10-09. The five saved dumpling observations checked on 2026-10-01 are Fried or Steamed Dumplings at $10.50 at New China (2805 W. Maple Rd), Fried Pork Dumplings (8) at $8.99 at Wong's Garden (5933 John R Road), Fried Dumplings (6) at $7.95 at Wing Hing (2918 E Long Lake Rd), Gyoza at $13.95 at Mon Jin Lau (1515 E Maple Rd) and Pan-Fried Dumpling (6) at $7.25 at Chinese Keno (2081 W South Blvd). This site's Detroit guide lists Royal Palace at 5087 Rochester Rd in Troy, whose online menu listed crystal shrimp dumplings, steamed pork dumplings and honey BBQ pork buns as small, medium and large plates when checked on 2026-09-30; that historical check did not establish a separate dim sum window.
Where is Sichuan food in Troy?
No restaurant in this guide describes itself as a Sichuan kitchen; these are American-Chinese menus with Szechuan-style dishes. Wing Hing lists Szechuan Chicken, Szechuan Beef, Tofu Szechuan Style and Ma Po Tofu ($11.75 and up) on its carryout menu. New China lists Ma Po Tofu at $16.95 and Szechuan Lo Mein at $17.95. Which Troy Chinese restaurants deliver?
P.F. Chang's Troy ordering page offered $0 delivery on orders of $50 or more when refreshed on 2026-10-09. Mon Jin Lau's site says it offers delivery without naming a platform, fee or radius. Chinese Keno's saved BeyondMenu info page, read on 2026-10-01, lists delivery at $6.98 within 10 miles with a $15.00 minimum; that entry rests on the historical platform listing, not a newly checked operator page. New China states it does not deliver or use DoorDash, Uber Eats or Grubhub, Wong's Garden says pickup only, and Wing Hing's site describes carryout. Menu prices come from the channel and date named in each profile, so confirm delivery availability and delivery or dine-in prices with the restaurant.
Which part of Troy should I go to, and do I need a car?
Three of the six restaurants are on Maple Road or Big Beaver Road, in ZIPs 48083 and 48084: New China (2805 W. Maple Rd), Mon Jin Lau (1515 E Maple Rd) and P.F. Chang's (2801 W Big Beaver Rd, Space D112). P.F. Chang's location page lists nearby self-parking and a Paid Valet Parking Highlight, but its parking block qualifies valet as available in some locations; confirm Troy valet availability before relying on it. Wong's Garden is on John R Road and Wing Hing on East Long Lake Road, both ZIP 48085, and Chinese Keno is on West South Boulevard, ZIP 48098. These are separate stops rather than one walkable district, and the operator pages checked for this guide do not give transit directions. For New China, Wong's Garden and Wing Hing, plan an order ahead and pickup transport for your chosen branch.
